医療の現場でもおもちゃと遊びが大活躍！

東京おもちゃ美術館を運営する認定NPO法人芸術と遊び創造協会は
芸術と遊びを通した多岐にわたる社会貢献活動を行っています。

中でも【病児の遊びとおもちゃケア】活動は、
医療関係者とボランティアの方々の手によって支えられ、約30年もの間歩み続けてきました。

Toys and play takes a big part in the medical field!

 NPO Association for the Arts,Toy and Playing Activities that operates the Tokyo Toy Museum, carries out a wide range of social contribution activities through art and play.

Among these are the ‘Play and Toy Care for Sick Children’ activities are supported by medical personnel and volunteers,
We have been making progress for about 30 years.

＜病児の遊びとおもちゃケア＞

すべての子どもは遊びの力で育ちます。それは病児であっても同じこと。
しかし長期入院をしていたり、発達や視覚・聴覚に障がいがある場合、
子どもが健全に育つために必要な、遊ぶ機会が圧倒的に少なくなってしまいます。

All children grow up through the power of play. This is true even for sick children. However, if a child is hospitalised for a long period of time or has developmental, visual or hearing impairments, they have far fewer opportunities to play, which is necessary for their healthy development.

そこで私たちは「ホスピタル・トイ・キャラバン」という活動を始めました。

病児向けのおもちゃセットを作り、全国の小児病院を10ヶ所以上巡回、「心の栄養士」である「おもちゃコンサルタント」が、病棟保育士や看護師の方々と一緒に、入院児や通院時、保護者、きょうだいと遊びます。

セット内容は心身の癒しになるおもちゃ、コミュニケーションを楽しめるおもちゃが50点。中には「プレパレーション・トイ」「ディストラクション・トイ」と呼ばれるおもちゃが入っているのが特徴的です。

※プレパレーション：子どもが理解できる説明を行い、心理的準備をさせる行為。
※ディストラクション：処置中に子どもの意識を他に転換させる行為。

人形やおもちゃの治療器具を使って、手術や検査の仕方を説明することによって
緊張や不安をやわらげ、恐怖感を軽減する役割があります。

That's why we started an initiative called Hospital Toy Caravan.
We have created a set of toys for sick children, which we tour more than 10 children's hospitals across the country, where ‘toy consultants’, who are ‘nutritionists of the heart’, play with hospitalised children, their parents and siblings during hospital visits, together with ward nursery staff and nurses.

The set includes 50 toys for mental and physical healing and communication. Some of the toys are called ‘Preparation Toys’ and ‘Distraction Toys’.

Using dolls and toy therapeutic devices, they explain how the operation or examination will be carried out This helps to alleviate tension and anxiety and reduce fear.

病気や障がいのあるお子さんも、ご家族の方も、一緒に笑顔になれるように。

‘We want every child to truly enjoy themselves with toys.’
That is our wish. Both children with illnesses or disabilities and their families, smile together.

そしてこの度、VOLUNTAINER Meeting 2025～東京マラソン2025 みんなでつなぐサステナビリティ～ 会場において
「ホスピタル・トイ・キャラバン」を初展示させて頂くことが決定しました！

おもちゃや遊びの楽しさは、説明を見聞きするよりも体験して頂くのが一番！

難病児と家族のための東京おもちゃ美術館貸し切りデー「スマイルデー 2024」

2012年度： 国立国際医療研究センター、東京女子医科大学大学、千葉大学付属病院、豊橋市民病院2013年度：長野県立こども病院、鹿児島県立大島病院

2014年度： 沖縄県立南部こども医療センター、福島県相馬市公立相馬総合病院

2015年度： 大分県立病院小児病棟、埼玉医科大学国際医療センター（助成元：アステラス製薬株式会社）

2016年度：大阪市立総合医療センターあそびかたフェスタ2016、埼玉県秩父市立病院、福島県 公立相馬総合病院（愛育 心と体の成長支援ネットワークと共催）

2017年度：埼玉県立小児医療センター、独立行政法人 国立病院機構 渋川医療センター、公立相馬総合病院、日本赤十字社医療センター附属乳児院
